Womens / Juniors – Highest Point Scoring Angler

Awards will be presented to the Highest Point Scoring angler in the Womens and Junior categories – Tag and Release, and Capture points will both be recognised. Unlike the Club Champion Awards, it is not necessary for these anglers to ‘qualify’.

Grand Slams

The Grand Slam awards are designed to encourage all members to chase different species. There are several levels as listed below, starting with a Grand Slam and finishing with the highest level of Royal Grand Slam. Any angler who achieves the desired number of species in that level will be awarded that Slam. The recording can be submitted with either a Tag or Capture of that species. Tuna, Yellowtail Kingfish or Samson fish may be substituted to use as a Gamefish species to attain a Slam. If you’re unsure about this, please consult the Weight Recorder.

Grand Slam – 2 species of Shark / Eagle Ray / either a Tuna, Yellowtail Kingfish or Samson fish / 2 species of Gamefish

Super Grand Slam – 3 species of Shark / Eagle Ray / another species of Tuna, a Yellowtail Kingfish or Samson fish / 3 species of Gamefish

Ultimate Grand Slam– 4 species of Shark / Eagle Ray / another species of Tuna, a Yellowtail Kingfish or Samson fish / 4 species of Gamefish

Royal Grand Slam– 5 species of Shark / Eagle Ray / another species of Tuna, a Yellowtail Kingfish or Samson fish / 5 species of Gamefish

Reel Action Charters – Most Meritorious Awards

A new initiative this season sees Club sponsor Reel Action Charters support a new set of awards. A custom certificate will be presented to the angler of the Most Meritorious of each GFAA species. The top 3 of each species will be tracked and updated regularly as to notify members of the mark to beat. Only IGFA and Pre-tested lines may be used in this competition. All captures must be weighed on reputable scales. At least 2 anglers must submit a recording for a species to be awarded.

Club Trips / Tournaments

Throughout the season, Club Trips and Tournaments are held at specific locations and times. Each of these events has their own set of awards on offer – see the Season Event Calendar for details. Recordings from these events can also be submitted for yearly awards and point scores.
