July 18th  – Annual General Meeting

The AGFC last night held its Annual General Meeting for 2013.  The Committee would like to extend a warm welcome to Alan Foreman, who nominated for a Committee position, and with his many years of experience, will no doubt prove to be a valuable asset for the Club.  Committee Member Rhys Davies has also stepped up this season to take on the position of Secretary.   Please click here to see the 2013 / 14 AGFC Committee.

August 19th – AGFC Annual Presentation Dinner

The Hyde Park Tavern was the place to be on Saturday night, with the AGFC hosting its Annual Presentation Dinner.  A great night was had by all, with members enjoying the many awards presented by some of our generous Club sponsors.  It was good to see some of our regional members enjoying the opportunity to catch up with some friends too.  The raffle was a highlight for some, with a massive collection of prizes on offer.  Congratulations to all of the winners, and to the others, well there is always next year!  Click here to see some pics from the night.

September 7th – Damon and the boys smash the Samsons at Marion Bay

Rhys Davies and Paul Williams recently joined Damon from Reel Action Charters for a day offshore from Marion Bay.  The boys had had a huge day, landing x Samsons, ranging between 20 and 28 kg  It’s fair to say that Damon enjoyed himself too, landing a pending state record Samson of 21kg on 15kg.  Great stuff!  Paul also managed to slip a tag into a fiesty little Mako which turned up to see what all the fuss was about.  Great work guys.  Click here to see some pics!

September 20th – Matt Forrest boats a pending record Samson!

Club member Matt Forrest continued his stellar run of Samsons today, landing a pair of big fish offshore from Port Lincoln.  The best bit is that one of them is a pending record, weighed at 32.3kg on 10kg line class, it could potentially take out the State AND Australian Record!  A very impressive capture – Well Done Matt!

September 21st / 22nd – Port Augusta Club Trip

5 boats made the trip to the top of the gulf, and enjoyed a great weekend on the water, mixed in with plenty of laughs!  Although the Kings were quiet overall, a few of the crews persevered and landed some good fish.  It is thought that the fish may have been scared off by the guy who was seen wearing his mankini, whilst standing on the hard top of his boat!  Yes, you know who……..
